In May 2026, Dental Health Without Borders received two significant grants from CISU totalling over 4 million DKK. The grants will be used to strengthen both emergency relief and long-term preventive healthcare initiatives for thousands of children and families in Palestine.
Mobile clinic provides emergency medical care in Tulkarem
With a grant of almost DKK 750,000, DHWB is launching a six-month emergency aid project, running from 1 June 2026. A mobile clinic will provide healthcare services to around 2,500 people in the Tulkarem district of the West Bank.
The clinic specialises in:
- •Mental health and wellbeing
- •Advice on sexual and reproductive health
- •Preventative screening and information aimed at preventing the need for serious treatment later on
The initiative ensures essential access to healthcare for a target group that would otherwise be excluded from the established healthcare system.
Three-year programme aims to improve dental health among 6,100 children
DHWB has also received DKK 3.3 million for the three-year programme Name 4, which is due to launch in autumn 2026. The programme is being run in partnership with the Palestinian Medical Relief Society and is aimed at around 6,100 children and young people, as well as 1,100 parents, in vulnerable local communities.
ASMA 4 works to reduce toothache, school absenteeism and long-term health problems through:
- •Supervised daily toothbrushing at school and at home
- •Peer-to-peer teaching and local dental missions
- •Training of teachers, parent mentors and local volunteers to ensure long-term local involvement
- •Close cooperation with public authorities to integrate preventive dental care into the school system
